Iridium stores messages for a limited time, depending on whether they are new messages or saved messages. Below is how long each type is retained.
New Messages
New messages, including voice, text, and numeric messages, that are pending on the network will be automatically deleted after 8 days (192 hours).
This applies when the recipient’s device is powered off or not registered on the network.
If the device remains offline for the full 8-day period, the message will expire and be permanently deleted.
Saved Messages
Saved messages, including voice, text, and numeric messages, that are stored on the network (but not on the SIM card) will be deleted after 14 days.
