Iridium stores messages for a limited time, depending on whether they are new messages or saved messages. Here’s how long each type is retained:
New Messages
New messages — including voice, text, and numeric — that are left pending on the network will be automatically deleted after 8 days (192 hours).
- This applies when the recipient’s device is powered off or unregistered from the network.
- If the device remains offline for the full 8-day period, the message will expire and be deleted from the network.
Saved Messages
Saved messages — including voice, text, and numeric — that are stored on the network (but not on the SIM card) will be deleted after 14 days.
These limits help manage Iridium’s network traffic. If you have any concerns about message storage limits, please contact us at Roadpost – Contact Us.
