How Prepaid Balances Are Displayed
In the Manage Refills section of your BlueCosmo account, the balance shown is based on voice minutes, even if your plan is primarily intended for data use.
Because voice calls use minutes at twice the rate of dial-up data, the balance displayed may appear lower than the total number of data minutes originally purchased.
Converting Voice Minutes to Data Minutes
To calculate your remaining dial-up data minutes, simply double the number of voice minutes shown in your account.
Examples:
A 400 data minute SIM card that has not been used will show a balance of 200 voice minutes.
A 1000 data minute SIM card showing a balance of 300 voice minutes actually has 600 data minutes remaining.
This conversion applies to all Iridium GO! prepaid plans.
Why This Happens
Iridium GO! voice calls use twice as many minutes per connection compared to dial-up data services, such as:
Email and weather downloads through satellite email services and apps, such as OCENS OneMail
Other dial-up data transmissions through the Iridium GO! device
This is a normal part of how Iridium GO! prepaid plans are structured. For more details, please visit the GO! product support page.
