Creating a Route for the inReach Explorer

The inReach Explorer allows you to create routes in multiple stages. First, you will create the route on the explore.garmin.com web application. Second, you will download the route to your inReach device via the inReach sync client. Lastly, you will find and use the route on your inReach Explorer device.

Step 1: Create the route

1. Login to explore.garmin.com

2. Click on the "Map" tab

3. Click on the "New Route" button on the top of the map

4. Click anywhere on the map to start plotting your route

5. Continue to click on the map to add connecting points

6. Once you have plotted the last point, click on the last point to end and name the route, click the green checkmark to confirm the name and route line colour

7. The route will now appear on the map

Step 2: Download route to inReach Explorer and Earthmate app

Now that your inReach Explorer route is complete, you will need to sync your device in order to download the route to your device and the Earthmate app. Instructions for the sync client can be found below:

• Earthmate sync for Android
• Earthmate sync for iOS

 Step 3: Use route on Explorer device

1. Power on your inReach Explorer device

2. From the main menu select "Routes"

3. In the routes menu you will see your route listed by name

4. Highlight the route and select it with the check mark key

5. You will see the route details including length and the amount of legs on the route

6. Highlight "Navigate" and select it with the check mark key
