Earthmate mobile app acts as an extension of your inReach satellite communication device. The app allows you to mark waypoints, type messages, and access a larger screen for viewing maps. Earthmate will also receive information from your Garmin Explore account, and send data to your inReach device when it is synced.
IMPORTANT
- To sync Garmin Explore website changes, a cellular data or Wi-Fi connection on the paired mobile device is required and the compatible inReach device must be powered on and connected.
- Always check your inReach device after performing a sync to be sure that the data you would like on the device is present.
- On a suspended account, data recorded by an inReach device will not sync to Earthmate app or the Garmin Explore website. Data recorded during this period will sync once the account has an active subscription.
- If the Earthmate app has been deleted or installed on a new mobile device, messages older than one year may not sync to a newly installed Earthmate app.
- For Professional accounts, profile changes cannot be synced using Earthmate app. For more information, see Using Profiles as an inReach Professional Administrator.
It is important to sync the Earthmate app before leaving Wi-Fi or cellular data coverage. This ensures that the following information are updated in the Earthmate App:

- Predefined messages
