Iridium Two-Stage Dialing is a cost-saving forwarding service that allows callers to reach Iridium satellite phones by dialing a U.S.-based number, rather than dialing the Iridium number directly.
This service is automatically included with all Iridium postpaid and prepaid SIMs.
Why Use Two-Stage Dialing?
- Standard international rates to Iridium numbers are often very expensive.
- Two-Stage Dialing routes the call through an Arizona-based (U.S.) number, so callers are charged only the standard long-distance rate for calling the U.S.
Steps to Call an Iridium Number Using Two-Stage Dialing
- Dial 1-480-768-2500, a U.S.-based , Arizona number.
- When prompted, enter the full 12-digit Iridium number you wish to call, starting with 8816-XXX-XXXXX. Do not include any other prefix.
Example:
If your Iridium number is 8816-310-12345, callers would:
- Dial 1-480-768-2500.
- Then enter 881631012345 when prompted.
Charges for Iridium Subscribers (Receiving the Call)
