Iridium Two-Stage Dialing is a cost-saving forwarding service that allows callers to reach Iridium satellite phones by dialing a U.S.-based number, instead of dialing the Iridium number directly.
This service is automatically included with all Iridium postpaid and prepaid SIM cards.
Why Use Two-Stage Dialing?
Standard international calls to Iridium numbers can be very expensive.
Two-Stage Dialing routes the call through a U.S.-based (Arizona) number, so callers are charged standard long-distance rates to the U.S.
How to Use Two-Stage Dialing
Dial +1-480-768-2500 (U.S., Arizona).
When prompted, enter the full 12-digit Iridium number (starting with 8816).
Example:
If the Iridium number is 8816-310-12345:
Dial +1-480-768-2500
Enter 881631012345 when prompted
Charges for the Iridium Subscriber (Receiving the Call)
