Your Iridium Extreme® alerts you to incoming calls with a vibration, a ringtone, or both. This guide shows how to answer calls correctly and what to do if your antenna is stowed when the call arrives.
Tip: Keep the antenna extended whenever possible so you’re ready to take calls right away.

When a Call Comes In
The phone will vibrate, ring, or both.
The screen will display Incoming Call.
To Accept the Call
Press the Left Soft Key or the Green (Send) key. The screen will show Connected once the call begins.
Speak clearly into the microphone, keeping the antenna upright.
If the Antenna Is Stowed
You’ll still receive the call alert, but the screen will display Call Attempt.
Fully extend the antenna, then press the Green (Send) key to accept the call.
Note: Calls may drop or fail if the antenna isn’t fully deployed or if you move indoors during the call.
Best Practices
Always keep your phone’s antenna extended and vertical when in areas with clear sky view.
Use the vibrate mode in noisy environments so you don’t miss calls.
If you often miss calls, consider leaving the phone in a window or open area where it maintains a satellite signal.
