How to Use the AC Travel Charger
- Ensure the handset’s battery is installed. The phone must have its battery in place before you can use this charger to power the phone.
- Attach the correct wall-plug module from the International Plug Kit (matching your country’s outlet).
- Plug the charger into your wall outlet (100-240 V AC).
- Connect the charger’s cable to the power connector on the right side of the handset’s adapter.
- While charging, you may continue using the handset, but ensure the antenna is extended and has a clear view of the sky for full satellite network performance.
- Once the handset is fully charged or your session ends, unplug the charger and store the cable neatly.
Best Practices & Usage Tips
- Avoid allowing the handset battery to fully discharge before recharging. Keeping the battery level above low helps preserve long-term battery health.
- For best performance, charge your handset when the ambient temperature is within 0 °C to 40 °C. Charging outside this range may reduce speed or efficiency.
- When traveling internationally, make sure you attach the correct plug adapter from the kit. The charger supports global outlets, but the wrong plug may not fit securely or supply a proper connection.
- Maintain the charger and plug kit in a dry, cool place when not in use. Avoid bending the cable sharply or crimping it during storage or travel.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Charger not working or power LED does not light | Plug is not fully inserted or incorrect outlet | Reinsert the plug firmly; try another outlet or verify outlet voltage |
| Handset not receiving charge | The battery may be missing, damaged, or improperly installed | Make sure the battery is installed correctly; if still issues, test with another known-good battery |
| Charging is slow or stops unexpectedly | The outlet voltage is fluctuating, or the temperature is out of range | Use a different outlet; ensure ambient temperature is within 0-40 °C |
| Charger is warm or hot during use | Extended continuous use or high ambient temperature | Disconnect when fully charged; allow charger to cool before reuse |
