Menu Layout Explained
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Menu Title | The top of the screen shows the current menu name (e.g., Phonebook, Messages). |
| Menu Options | Displays the list of available actions, such as Call, SMS, Edit, Delete, or New. |
| Highlight Bar | Indicates the active selection. Scroll up or down using the 2-way Navi-key. |
| Arrow Indicators | Arrows at the top or bottom of the menu show that more options are available above or below the current screen view. |
| Soft Key Functions | The left soft key (usually Select) confirms your choice; the right soft key (usually Back) returns to the previous screen. |
How to Use Display Indicators Effectively
- Check signal strength before placing a call or sending a message. A clear line of sight to the sky ensures the best connection.
- Monitor battery level to avoid losing power in remote areas. Always carry a backup battery or charging option.
- Review icons regularly—for example, if the SOS icon appears unexpectedly, confirm that Emergency Mode hasn’t been triggered.
- Use the Navi-key to move through menus and confirm selections with the soft keys as displayed on the screen.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No network registration | Obstructed view of the sky | Move outdoors or ensure the antenna is extended and upright. |
| Icons are not updating or the screen is frozen | Software or temporary display glitch | Restart the phone; if the problem continues, remove and reinsert the battery. |
| Battery icon flashing | Low battery or faulty charging connection | Connect to a charger and allow the phone to recharge fully. |
| SOS icon remains after canceling | Emergency mode not cleared | Open the SOS menu and select Cancel Emergency, then confirm. |
