Your Iridium Extreme® satellite phone includes several buttons designed to make communication quick, safe, and reliable.
This guide shows the location and function of each button so you can recognize them at a glance and understand how they’re used during operation.
Tip: Familiarizing yourself with the button layout before heading into the field can save time and help ensure smooth operation in low-visibility or emergency situation

| On/Off Button | Powers the phone on and off. | Press and hold until the screen lights up or turns off. |
| Status Indicator LED | Shows network and call status. | Green for connected, red for no service. |
| Volume Keys (+ / –) | Adjust call or ringer volume. | Press during a call or while the phone is idle. |
| Left Soft Key | Activates options shown above the key on screen. | Commonly used for “Menu” or “Select.” |
| Right Soft Key | Performs the secondary on-screen action. | Often used for “Back” or “Cancel.” |
| 2-way Navi-key (Directional Pad) | Moves through menu items. | Press arrows to navigate and center to confirm. |
| Green Key (Send) | Starts or answers a call. | Press after dialing or to accept incoming calls. |
| Red Key (End/Power) | Ends a call or exits a menu. | Press to hang up or return to standby. |

| Microphone | Captures your voice. | Speak normally while holding the phone 1–2 inches from your mouth. |
| Earpiece | Plays audio during calls. | Hold near your ear for private conversations. |

| Programmable SOS Button | Triggers emergency mode when lifted and held. | Activates SOS to contact emergency response (see How to Send an SOS). |
| SOS Indicator LED | Flashes red when SOS is active. | Confirms that the emergency signal is being sent. |
| Headset Jack (2.5 mm) | Connects the Iridium wired headset. | Allows for hands-free operation. |
Important: Keep the SOS button cover closed when not in use to prevent accidental activation.
Quick Reference: Using Buttons During Common Tasks
