To check the firmware version on the Iridium GO! unit or from the Iridium GO! App:
On the GO! Device:
1. Press either left or right navigation button for menu to appear.
2. Press “NEXT” button until you get to “INFORMATION” option.
3. Press “SELECT”.
4. Note the f/w (firmware) version.
On the Iridium GO! App:
1. Connect to your Iridium GO (via Wi-Fi).
2. Sign in to the Iridium GO Application using the "guest" account.
3. Once logged into Iridium GO! App on your Android or Apple device, navigate to HELP>ABOUT>Iridium Go! Firmware Version.
To update the firmware on your device please perform the following actions:
- Download the firmware file by clicking on this https://www.iridium.com/idr-file/347619/
- Unzip the downloaded firmware file to your Desktop.
- Power on the Iridium GO! by flipping up the antenna.
- Wait for the device to fully boot.
- From your computer (must be a computer and not an iPad, iPhone, or Android phone) join the Iridium GO! Wi-Fi network. Example Iridium GO! SSID: IRIDIUM-02473.
- Open a web browser and type in the following IP address into the address bar: 192.168.0.1.
- An Iridium interface page will open.
- Type in "guest" for the "User Name" and "Password" fields.
- From the main page, click on the "System" tab.
- Click on the "Choose File" button.
- Select the previously unzipped firmware file. The file name should be called "maxwell-2.1.22.frm"
- Once the file has been selected, click on the "Upgrade" button.
- The progress bar will start to count up to 100%. The upgrade will take up to 15 minutes to complete.
- Once the firmware update reaches 100% the Iridium GO! will reboot. The device will be ready to use again.
IMPORTANT: If the Iridium GO! is stuck on 'Initializing' or if the firmware update steps above cannot be completed because the unit keeps unexpectedly rebooting, contact support at customercare@roadpost.com
