The Iridium GO! and Iridium GO! exec are similar devices however each have their own usage cases and things they excel at. Below is a head to head comparison of the two devices:

Key differences

Device interface:

Iridium GO!: Smart device must be connected for all primary functions. Physical SOS button.

Iridium GO! exec: Touch screen, built in speaker and microphone for calls, Internet Connection Manager, physical SOS button.

Calling:

Iridium GO!: Standard Quality calls must be made via connected smart device and mobile app. 1 line using standard Iridium SIM. Cannot make voice and data calls simultaneously. SIM is cross-compatible with Iridium phones.

Iridium GO! exec: High Quality calls can be made directly on the device and also via connected smart device on the mobile app. 2 lines using unique Iridium Certus-100 SIM. Both lines along with data connection can be used simultaneously. Exclusive Certus-100 SIM is not cross compatible with any other device. SIP phones supported.

Messaging:

Iridium GO!: SMS, to be sent via the mobile app. Does not work with data-based messaging apps (IE; WhatsApp).

Iridum GO! exec: No SMS available at launch. Compatible with data-based messaging such as WhatsApp, iMessage, Signal, Messenger, Slack, Teams, etc.

Data/Internet:

Iridium GO!: Data 'calls' limited to 2.4kbps. Only compatible with special highly optimized satellite apps for email, weather reports, etc. Basic browsing not supported. Cannot make voice calls during data calls.

Iridium GO! exec: 88kbps/22kbps down/up IP data connection which allows for basic low-bandwidth data usage of standard mobile apps, (IE; Gmail for emails, low file size images, media-restricted Twitter feed, etc). Avg 1.5min to transfer 1MB data. Data connection can be used simultaneously with voice calling.

GPS/Tracking:

Iridium GO!: GPS tracking available on mobile app. Manual/Automated tracking SMS/emails sent from device.

Iridium GO! exec: No built-in tracking (third party solution available). GPS information is displayed during SOS, but not automatically relayed to IERCC/GEOS.
