Location Service settings provide users with the ability to customize how the GeoPro Mobile App acquires a GPS fix. Given that smartphones today vary in hardware, this means there could be a variance in how quickly smartphones acquire a GPS fix. Some handsets can take much longer to acquire a GPS fix compared to others. Due to the nature of smartphone technology, the GeoPro Mobile App provides the ability to customize location based settings to create for the best possible experience.
Note: The Location Service setting defaults are in place upon installation. Only change these settings should the need arise.
This article explains how to configure the Location Service settings of the GeoPro Mobile App.
1. Navigate to Settings and select Location Service.
2. You will be presented with the options to set the period of time to retain the last known location, the timeout period for acquiring a GPS fix based on the defined level of accuracy, and the desired level of accuracy. Using the sliders, select the desired settings for each of the options listed.
Note: By default, the GeoPro Mobile App is set to remember the last location for 10 seconds, with a timeout period of 30 seconds and an accuracy of 10 meters. If necessary, reducing the accuracy can improve the time needed to acquire a valid GPS fix.
