Feature Overview: Man Down
Man Down is a feature that is available exclusively on the GeoPro mobile app. Man Down detects bodily movements based on motion detection and should not to be used or mistaken with fall detection. The GeoPro mobile app uses your smartphone’s built-in accelerometer to detect bodily movement. Movement sensitivity can be increased or decreased to reduce the likelihood of triggering false alarms. The user of the GeoPro mobile app can easily define the period of time the device is motionless before raising an alarm and also the period of time the user has to cancel the no motion detection before an alarm is raised. Each of these settings are all available to the user on the Man Down tab of the GeoPro Mobile App (See Fig. 1).
Once Man Down has been enabled (See Fig. 2) and is worn by the user (in their pocket, for example), if the user’s smartphone is motionless and no motion is detected, the mobile app will alert the user it has triggered its Man Down state and will provide the ability to cancel before an alarm is raised (See Fig. 3). Once cancelled, Man Down stays enabled and continues to detect movement until the next no movement/ Man Down detection has been triggered. If left alone and an alert is raised, the Man Down feature will automatically trigger an SOS (See Fig. 4), alert the GeoPro Web App, and two of your predefined escalation contacts of the declared emergency. If you've selected to have your emergencies monitored by GEOS, they will also receive the emergency notification and will immediately reach out to the user to confirm their safety.
